I went running to Jeannie Norris (Head of Miss Hall's School, where I worked for nine years) and said May I show you something?!?! (She was very kind and let me show her.) I knew that with the ability to display that simple horizontal fraction, I also had the power to display ANY mathematics that I needed. TeX transformed my professional life for the first time. MathML transformed my professional life for the second time.
