It is true what they say, fresh, warm homemade bread IS waiting upon your arrival...
and that was only the beginning of what turned out to be one of the best vacation experiences
we have ever had. You will want for nothing at Hill Cottage.
A lovingly restored cottage surrounded by majestic ancient swaying pine trees,
a green manicured lawn, an herb garden and more awaited exploration.
Since this was a record breaking hot summer we spent a great deal of time on the screened
in porch but there is so much more to this home.
The owners have thought of everything and everything is top of the line.
We had all we needed for cooking; a five burner gas stove, pots, pans, ice delivered
from the refrigerator , spices. The downstairs shower is to die for!!
There is a very generous tiled mud room where we felt comfortable leaving our dogs when we went out.
On the first floor we made use of the office and internet service (we are house hunting).
At night we cozied up in the living room to read and listen to music.
At the end of the day, tired from all the swimming hiking and house hunting we took full advantage
of the deck off of the upstairs bedroom for stargazing and a quick nightcap.
Even though it was so very hot this summer all the windows afforded a lovely
cross breeze for comfortable sleeping and there are lots of little turbo fans
through out the house if needed. We didn’t hate the jetted soaking tub either.
AND this house is clean clean clean. All this and still it is only a short drive
to Great Barrington for trendy restaurants, museums and shopping. We can only
imagine how perfect this house would be for the leaf peeping season or for a ski vacation in winter.
